Kohler^® Power Systems Year 2000 Disclosure Statement

Kohler Power Systems has taken the necessary steps to address the Year 2000 compliance requirements, and this issue will not impact any of Kohler's product lines and the ability to serve our customers.

Additionally, all Kohler Power Systems internal business systems, software, equipment, etc. that could be affected by the Year 2000 have been reviewed, updated, and will be compliant upon the completion of our business system reengineering project in April 1999.

We thank you for your interest regarding Kohler Power Systems' program concerning Year 2000 compliance.

Kohler Power Systems Manufactured Products

All of Kohler Power Systems' products have been thoroughly tested for Year 2000 compliance. There will be no disruption of their performance in the Year 2000 and beyond. Kohler Power Systems planned ahead, and these date-sensitive products were designed with the millennium issue in mind from the very beginning.

The following products manufactured by Kohler Power Systems contain dates (day/month/year):

• M340 automatic transfer switch controller, model prefixes K-5, KB-5, and G-5. First introduced in 1992.
• M340+ automatic transfer switch controller, model prefixes ZCS-5 or 6, and ZCB-5 or 6. First marketed in 1993.
• Decision Maker™ 340. This generator set controller, optionally used on generator sets 20 kilowatts and larger, can be identified by a keypad and digital display. No other generator controller has a keypad and display. Introduced in 1995.
• PM340 Power Monitor. First sold in 1997.

No other Kohler Power Systems-manufactured products contain dates and -- therefore, by their design -- are Year 2000 compatible.

Kohler Power Systems Supplied Products

• Kohler Power Systems sells switchgear controls for paralleling generators utilizing components from various vendors. All Kohler-supplied paralleling switchgear has been verified to be Year 2000 compliant.
• Certain Kohler Power Systems generator sets are powered by Detroit Diesel engines equipped with DDEC electronic engine controls. As indicated on the Detroit Diesel website (www.detroitdiesel.com), all DDEC-equipped engines are Year 2000 compliant.

Year 2000 readiness disclosure -- NOTICE: This document is a "Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure" and contains "Year 2000 Statements" as those terms are used in the Year 2000 Information and Readiness Disclosure Act.
