Y2K Statement

In countries across the world, KOHLER's industrial generators are entrusted with providing the power to improve people's lives. From powering water pumping stations in the emerging African nation of Angola to providing back-up electricity in Yellowstone National Park, KOHLER's vast line-up of industrial generators is counted on to provide electrical power when no other source is available. These KOHLER generators power the hospitals, factories and communication centers that knit together a global marketplace.

Ranging from 5 to 2000 kW, there's a KOHLER generator to handle every job. KOHLER generators have remarkable one-step block loading capability; a technical achievement which sets their units apart from the crowd.  When used as a standby source of power, these units automatically come on line and maintain steady, reliable electrical power that provides powerful peace of mind. When used as the primary source of electricity, these generators provide quality power that often outperforms that of the local utility.

5 to 18 kW

The smallest industrial generators range from
5 to 18 kW and can be diesel, gasoline, LP gas or natural gas powered. Ideal for smaller facilities such as nursing homes, stores, and police and fire departments, these units were designed to come on line quickly when the utility power source is interrupted and to provide a steady source of power until that utility is reestablished. The maintenance on these generators is minimal and easy to perform -- they've been engineered to come to the rescue in an emergency, not cause headaches. And because they are equipped with a full monitoring system with built-in controls, running them properly is a snap.

20 to 300 kW

KOHLER's Fast-Response™ line-up of gensets includes units that range from 20 to 300 kW and is famous for its exceptional motor starting ability and voltage recovery - ten times faster than many competitive generators of equivalent ratings. This voltage recovery ability helps to protect electronic equipment that is sensitive to voltage transients while reducing electric light dimming caused by load changes in standby and interruptible rate applications. With Fast-Response generators, even 50 percent load changes are virtually imperceptible. Fast-Response generators are available in gasoline, natural gas and diesel fueled models.

350 to 2000 kW

The largest in KOHLER's generator set line-up is the TR-Series™, offered with a variety of cooling and exhaust system options and a complete line of accessories. Ranging from 350 to 2000 kW, these units provide a reliable source of electricity in even the most demanding power installations. TR-Series can be connected in parallel applications to meet added power output requirements . They are ideal for peak shaving applications at facilities desiring to save energy costs while providing standby power to keep operations up and running in the event of a utility power failure. These industrial units can also deliver prime power at heavy construction sites, industrial plants, timber and mining operations, and other applications where a constant source of clean power is needed. KOHLER generators have both 50 and 60 hertz capability, so meeting energy needs in applications around the world is never a problem.

135 to 275 kW Natural Gas

Responding to the need for more environmentally friendly generator sets that can be used in a variety of applications, KOHLER recently introduced a line of sophisticated natural gas-powered units. The six models - which range from 135 to 275 kW - use permanent magnet excitation to give them the fastest response in the industry. The benefits of powering these gensets with natural gas are numerous: a reduction in harmful emissions, lower exhaust temperatures, improved engine efficiency and the ability to meet increasingly stringent global emissions standards.

Specially designed sound attenuated housings are available on many KOHLER gensets, keeping noise to a minimum while protecting your investment in a KOHLER generator. To help attenuate generator noise, a critical silencer and radiator are mounted in the enclosure, which is constructed from heavy-gauge, pre-painted aluminum and features removable hinged doors for easy generator set access.

We believe that one of the prime ways to judge a product's reliability is its warranty. That's why every KOHLER power system is covered by a comprehensive warranty, with extended warranties available for added assurance.
